Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett: The CBS Television Specials

Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett were on the verge of becoming superstars when they came together for the first of their concert evenings at Carnegie Hall in the spring of 1962. Andrews was already a Broadway legend, performing in The Boyfriend, My Fair Lady and Camelot, though she was not yet a household name. Burnett had yet to make the leap to her own acclaimed primetime show but was grabbing attention for her hilarious bits on CBS's The Garry Moore Show and on Broadway in Once Upon a Mattress. The audience loved the show and the album, earning Burnett a second Emmy Award for her performance. Andrews and Burnett would reunite at Lincoln Center for their second concert special which was broadcast live on CBS in 1971.
